Known Issue with Zoom Recurring Meeting Links Created in Outlook

Zoom has identified an issue within recurring meetings created in Outlook calendar. (Please note that non-recurring meetings are not affected by this issue.) In some cases, recurring meetings are not recognized by Zoom as recurring, therefore the Zoom link created is invalid. At this time, Zoom recommends creating the recurring meeting on the Zoom site, and then sending the meeting details via Outlook calendar.

Step-by-step instructions:
  • 1. Log into the University's Zoom portal at
  • 2. Click on Meetings
  • 3. Click the Schedule a Meeting button
  • 4. Set the desired options on that page, including the recurrences
  • 5. Click Recurring meeting and choose the occurrences
  • 6. Click the Save button
  • 7. Click Add to Outlook calendar (.ics)
    • Note: If an Outlook window does not appear, locate the downloaded .ics file in your computer's downloads folder and open it
  • 8. Add the attendees to the meeting series
  • 9. Click Send
