UM's virtual private network (VPN) is no longer required for off-campus access to University enterprise systems, including Zoom. If you are using VPN, please ensure that you are not using high-bandwidth tools, including video-streaming services like YouTube or Zoom, while connected.

Zoom is a video conferencing tool that combines an easy-to-use interface with exceptional video quality, offering a seamless experience for collaboration across mobile devices, desktops, and conference rooms. Zoom features include screen sharing, recording, breakout rooms, chat, adaptive streaming, and more!

Use Zoom to meet using video, voice, and screen-sharing with colleagues across the campus or around the world. With Zoom, up to 300 participants can attend via phone, computer, mobile device, or video conferencing.

Advisory: Zoom meetings now require passcode or waiting room. Click here to learn more.

  • No fees are charged for this service.

  • Students: All current students.
  • Faculty/Staff: All faculty and staff except when used for telemedicine/direct patient care. A special license and implementation of Zoom is used for UHealth telemedicine visits and must be initiated through UChart. This adds an extra layer of security to standard Zoom processes and ensures privacy and regulatory compliance. For assistance using Zoom for telemedicine via UChart, please contact UHealth IT at (305) 243-5999 or help@med.miami.edu.
