Enterprise Applications and Services

The goal of the Enterprise Applications and Services unit is to support the academic, research and administrative functions of the University to meet their strategic goals. This unit provides the user community with a set of integrated information systems and institutional databases that support the mission of the University, and provides faculty, staff, and students with enterprise applications that assist them in day-to-day activities.

     
Our functional groupings are comprised of information technology and business professionals who work closely with our central administrative and academic offices and campus counterparts to investigate, develop, implement, and support enterprise solutions to University administrative, academic, and business needs.


Business Application Solutions (BAS)

  • Previously known as Enterprise Application Services (EAS), the Business Application Solutions (BAS) unit administers, maintains, develops, monitors, and oversees applications on behalf of the University community. Two teams are tasked with specific application areas in support of the University mission.

CaneLink Support Services

  • CaneLink Support Services manages the University's student information system, CaneLink. This team is responsible for architecture, development, testing, and support in production of the CaneLink system.

Change Management and User Adoption

  • The UMIT Change Management and User Adoption unit provides change management services, which include training services, communication, and change management strategies to all IT-related projects.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM)

  • The Customer Relationship Management (CRM) team uses the Salesforce platform, which allows UM admissions and recruitment offices to reach out to prospective applicants and build relationships with them. This platform extends communication to prospective applicants using social, mobile, and cloud technologies to keep them engaged with the University. There are plans to extend services to other University populations.

Decision Support Services

  • Partnering with business owners, data custodians, and users, the Decision Support Services (DSS) unit's role is to provide services in Business Intelligence.
