Who Can Join?

Any faculty or staff of the University of Miami in the Gables, Medical, and RSMAS campuses.

How Do I Register My System?

Contact your Campus Site License Manager and obtain a registration form, or print one from here. Send the registration form to the following address:

What Software Is Available?

We receive OpenVMS VAX and AXP, ULTRIX, and Digital UNIX (OSF/1) products on CDROM that are free to registered users. To request any of the software mentioned, please contact your Campus Site License Manager.

Ultrix Software Licenses

Only those systems that are under the USL (Novell) Software Agreement are allowed to use the CSLG ULTRIX and DECshell Licenses. The unlimited user licenses for these products will expire in April of 2008.

If you wish to add a system to this agreement, the cost would be $160.00 per system. For further information, please contact:

What Type of Support Can Be Expected?

There are 3 levels of support. The first level is the Software Library Support. This level can answer basic questions on installing, software setup, etc. The second level is the Technical Support. This level can answer software as well as some hardware questions. The third level is DEC support.

Campuswide License Manager

The Campuswide License Manager is responsible for the overall management and the security of the Campuswide Software License Program Licenses and Product Authorization Keys (PAKS). This person is also responsible for training Campus Site License Managers to install CSLG PAK's onto authorized systems and responsible for the coordination and feedback of software usage information for the CSLG annual survey.

Campus Site License Manager

Each campus will have a Campus Site License Manager responsible for the installation of the CLSG license PAK's onto authorized systems and of the ordering process. ONLY the Campuswide License Manager and the Campus Site License Managers are authorized access to the CSLG License PAK's.

The Campus Site License Managers are responsible for providing tracking and usage information to the Campuswide License Manager for inclusion in the annual surveys.

Each Campus Site License Manager will have a copy of the CSLG agreement and addenda in an effort to ensure that the terms and conditions are understood and followed.
