CaneNet Connection Policies and Procedures
- The CaneNet Connection services are exclusively for currently enrolled students of the University of Miami.
- In order for services to be performed the student must present a Cane Card and agree to and sign the Service Waiver.
- In order for service to be performed on a system the student must provide the following:
- AC Adapter
- CD/DVD Rom Drive
- All necessary cables and system CD's
- If the service being performed by the CaneNet Connection is the configuration of the WirelessCanes and /or CaneNet services the owner of the system must remain with the system at all times.
- The CaneNet Connection can only perform advanced services on PCs with Windows 7, Vista or XP currently installed on the system.
- The CaneNet Connection can only perform hardware support on Dell PCs that are currently under warranty.
- If the service being performed by the CaneNet Connection is an extended service such as virus/spyware scans, OS reinstallations, or data backup/restore. The owner of the system will be required to drop the system off in order for it to be serviced.
- In order for a computer that has been dropped off for extended services to be retrieved the owner of the computer must bring a picture ID to verify their identity. Accepted forms of identification are:
- Canecard
- State issued drivers license or ID card
- Government issued ID or Passport
